The College of Health and Human Services fosters student excellence and develops productive citizens who function as skilled health and human services professionals to improve health and wellbeing in the communities we serve. We exemplify teaching, scholarship, service, and community engagement through health initiatives, innovative thinking, and lifelong learning.

We prepare students to become skilled professionals who enhance the health, well-being, and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. We cultivate an inclusive and innovative learning environment that inspires and equips students to solve complex health and human services challenges. Through experiential learning and interprofessional education, research, service, and community outreach we work together to shape a healthier and more equitable world.

In 2022-2023 the College of Health and Human Services proudly awarded $338,047 in scholarships, empowering our students to excel in their studies and make a difference in the world. See below to learn more about how these scholarships can support your educational journey and career aspirations.

Scholarships

The intent of this scholarship is to provide scholarships to students who are providing mentoring services to other students in the College of Health and Human Services and demonstrates academic achievement, servant leadership centered on the success of other students and experiential learning.

Eligible students will

  • Be enrolled in the College of Health & Human Services
  • Have a university GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Be an enrolled sophomore or junior
  • Have peer service experience

Eligible students will:

  • A Freshman, Sophomore or Junior
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Be enrolled in one of the following majors:
    • Public Health
    • Kinesiology or PE Exercise Science
    • PE All-Grade
    • Recreational Therapy
    • Sport Management
  • Have peer service experience

Eligible students will:

  • Have a of GPA 3.0 or above
  • Be in good standing academically
  • Be entering their Junior year
  • Be enrolled fulltime
  • Be enrolled in one of the following majors:
    • Kinesiology or PE Exercise Science
    • Public Health or Health Sciences
    • Recreational Therapy
    • Sports Management

Eligible students will:

  • Be in a master's level program
  • Have a graduate assistantship
  • Be enrolled in one of the following majors:
    • Athletic Training
    • Community Health Promotion – Public Health or Health Sciences
    • Coaching
    • PE Exercise Science or Kinesiology
    • Sport Management

Eligible students will:

  • Be pursuing a major in the College of Health and Human Services (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Be in good standing academically
  • Have a recommendation from a faculty member who will be student’s mentor
  • Preference to:
    • Applicants who are certified or have training as a Paramedic, EMT, fire fighter, or other first responder
    • Veterans
